Sin
Yesterday, sunday, on our way back from California (my Thanksgiving trip) we were planing to drive trough out Las Vegas Boulevard to show Eryn what sin city is all about.
But the driver thought it was a bad idea go to Vegas on a Sunday o_O
(So we drove pass it but the driver looked back on her front mirror and became a statue of salt)
Fun(ny) attitude
Orlando, Florida
The last 3 days in Orlando weren’t nearly as fun as Disney World days. Even though we did fun stuff, we (Jon) didn’t have the right attitude.
We went to a Water park
We went to Downtown Disney, where the toys were really friendly, perhaps a little too friendly.
We went to Universal Studio’s Island of Adventure.
We jumped from the highest Skycoaster in the world
Our way back
Taxi to the bus station in Orlando, Bus to Tampa, taxi to the Airport.
On our way back we missed our plane to Las Vegas, so we spent the night in Dallas, Texas… where we missed our flight again…and yeah… after that we missed it one other time. (3 flights!!!)
Once in Vegas we couldn’t find the car, then the battery was dead, then Jon was too tired to drive me back to Salt Lake City (As he said he would) so I had to take a bus the day after.
There’s nothing to do but laugh in these situations.
MasterCard Moment?
Taxi to the bus station in Orlando ($50)
Bus to Tampa ($24)
Taxi to the Airport ($20)
taking two days to get home, missing your flight 3 times in a row then spending 60 minutes trying to remember where you parked your car… and then find out that the battery is dead? Pricel… $56.- (The bus home)
The “Why” of us flying from Vegas to Tampa
Miami, Florida
I am now in Miami… waiting for the flight to Tampa…
Now that I have a little time, and for those who likes to read and want to know how is that I am going to Disney World (and why in the world I am flying from Vegas to Tampa instead of flying directly from Salt Lake City to Orlando) here is the explanation:
My birthday and my graduation were really close one to another… so my friend Paola wanted to give me something special.
First was a sky diving trip, but after finding out what sky diving was she changed her mind.
So she asked me to choose a place to go. The first place that came to my mind was South Beach (Miami) but then I remember that last year I regretted not going to Disney World when I was in South Beach.
Jon, my (then) roommate wanted to came with us; he had a friend there that could get us free tickets! (So he was more than invited)
He got over excited and also scared after the possibility that the trip wouldn’t happen so he bought the tickets way in advance.
Paola always changes her mind, so his fear was understandable. In fact Paola did change her mind and the trip almost didn’t happen.
Jon insisted that we should fly from Las Vegas to Tampa. “If you guys came with me to Vegas I’ll get the gas cost” he said… “Flying from Vegas is cheaper” he assured
Paola had some other businesses to take care of so she couldn’t go to Orlando.
I didn’t really want to go with out her but Jon already had the Tickets so 3 days before the date he was supposed to go I got tickets for the same flight (Las Vegas-Miami- Tampa)
None the less, I was really, really excited that I was going to Disney World.
Vegas Baby!
We arrived to Vegas at noon, just on time to eat. We went straight to In n’Out.
I love eating there (there is nothing special about the food, but it is kind of a must go place in Vegas and California –if you are not from there)
We had many hours to spare before our plane leaves, so we started walking on the Las Vegas Boulevard (The strip)
We visited, once again, The Bellagio, then Caesar Palace and after that we were pretty much dead tired.
.
The Boob Collection
Noticing how many naked statues were in the casinos, Jon decided to start a “bob collection” taking pictures of every single boob he saw.
(It was funny at the beginning but I think we crossed the line from “funny” to a “disturbing”)
.
Sin City
I never noticed before how sexual Las Vegas is…
There are people (every where) who hands you porn and prostitutes Ads in the street, or the advertisement of exotic dancers and prostitutes in billboards, buses and trucks; or the uncountable kind of “adult’ type of shows that the hotel-casinos offer… But that’s nothing; Las Vegas is much, much dirtier…
The hotel Hooters and the hotel casino Flamingos, and some bars like Coyote ugly (in NY-NY) have servers with almost no close on.
We saw a mega adult store (grocery store size!!!) and the parking lot was almost full!
.
Lions
Right before we left to the airport we went to see the lion in a fish tank.
Parowan, Utah
We left Salt Lake yestarday and spent the night in Parowan, a really small town in the middle of the desert of Utah.
It is “famous” for the paintings of indinas in themountains.
Now we are about to leave to Las Vegas (Baby!!!)
Disney World Here We go!! ( Road Trip 2008 )
Well I am starting my road trip 2008, something I was looking forward to do since last summer. This time we are going to the north and part of the east coast of the US. (And some cities of Florida)
The adventure starts this Sunday -04.20.200- when my friend Jon is picking me up to go to Las Vegas. From Las Vegas we are flying to Tampa, Florida… and Even tho Las Vegas and Tampa sound awesome.. the only thing I am excited about is to visit the only place I regret not have visited last summer: Disney World!!!
After Orlando we’ll go back to Salt Lake City.
(Diarios de una camioneta 2)
May 2nd 2008- is scheduled to start officially our road trip on a truck… We are going to head up north to Yellowstone (Wyoming) and find out if it is actually yellow. Then to Mount Rushmore (South Dakota) See the faces and all.
We are thinking to Visit Miniampolis, The Michigan Lake, and Chicago, Illinois (which is my first big stop) There Jon gets out and Patrick gets in (Yes, the original Patrick of the road trip 2007)
We are going to Detroit, Michigan (the second big stop) There I’ll visit some friends (The Ls) and head up to Niagara Falls, New York; and show off that I saw something better (Iguazu Falls)
After this it gets confusing because I am not sure where I am going to go, but the plan is to get to know Boston, Massachusetts; New York, New York; and Washington, DC…
Here we go, take a seat and I hope you enjoy… I know I will.

Disney World
Aparently there is a whole cult about visiting Walt Disney’s World.
Disney World (1971- ) is the most visited place in America. It is a huge park in the middle of Florida, twice the size of Manhattan, making it the largest man-made playground in the world.
It gets four times more visitors than Florence, Italy.
It is run by Disney, the American film company that gave the world Mickey Mouse.
It is like their Disneyland in California, but it is newer and far larger.
The lessons learned in building Disneyland were applied to Disney World.
Disney World has four parks:
1971: Magic Kingdom (Which we plan to visit)
1982: Epcot Center
1989: Disney MGM Studio
1998: Animal Kingdom (Also in the top of our list)
I am so excited… 7 days from today… AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH
Forgot, after Orlando we might take a quick visit to SoBe (Miami Beach)
